MyChinaGuide exists for one kind of traveler: you're going to China, you don't read Chinese, and you want straight answers about visas, payments, trains, and what to actually eat. We publish those answers free on this site and build an app that works on the ground.

What we make

On the web: free travel articles, a China visa checker, and a growing library of traveler questions answered with specifics — prices, timings, and the rules as they are right now.

In the app: 250 city guides across 24 Chinese cities, more than 10,000 dishes translated to English with photos, offline phrase cards, and Panda AI — an assistant tuned for China trip planning, menus, and getting around. The app runs on servers inside China, so it stays reachable without a VPN.

How we keep content current

China's travel rules change fast — visa-free policies, payment app limits, and ticketing procedures have all shifted multiple times in the past two years. Our editorial team reviews and rewrites guides against official sources (immigration announcements, payment platform terms, China Railway's own booking flow), and every article carries a visible "last updated" date plus machine-readable dates for search engines.

Restaurant and dish data starts from Chinese-language local platforms — the places locals actually rate — then gets translated into natural English and reviewed before it reaches the app.

How we make money

The website is free. The app has a free tier and a one-time purchase to unlock all cities — no subscription. Some pages include clearly labeled affiliate links to booking partners; they never change what we recommend, and articles are written before any placement is considered.
